Linksys routers are devices that share computers and printers across a network. You can connect any machine to the router, including a Canon printer. Linksys routers have a service called a print server that allows you to connect printers and use them from any machine on the network. A print server assigns an IP address to the printer automatically, so every time you turn on the machine it receives an address and you can print from a desktop or laptop on your network
1. Power on the Canon printer and connect it to the Linksys router. Open a web browser on a machine that is connected to the router. Type the IP address of the router into the address bar of the web browser. For a Linksys router, the default is 192.168.1.1. If you have a username and password set, then enter it int the window that appears. The default username for the Linksys router is "admin" with a blank password.
