Delete Queued Print Job in Windows XP / Windows 2000 in Canon


If a print job is corrupt and does not print clearly, does not print at all or is preventing other queued jobs from printing, delete the queued job.


To perform this task, follow this procedure:
1. On the Windows taskbar, double-click the printer icon located to the left of the time.

2. At the Printer window, select the print job, under 'Document Name' column, to highlight it.

3. From the 'Document' menu, select 'Cancel'.

4. Repeat steps two and three to cancel another print job.


If the printer icon is not located in the Windows taskbar, follow this procedure:
1. Open the Printers Folder

2. Double-click the printer icon to open the print queue window

3. Click 'Printer'.

4. Click "Cancel All Documents'


1. Turn off the printer.
2. When the printer operations stop completely, try to click 'Cancel All Documents'.


If the print job cannot be cancelled or will not stop printing, please follow these steps:
1. Close the Printer window.
2. Shut down the computer.
3. Disconnect the printer cable (USB or parallel cable).
4. Restart the computer.
5. If a message window appears asking to cancel printing, select 'Yes'.
6. After all print jobs have been cancelled, reconnect the cable to the printer and then try to print again.

How to Print from Windows 7 to a Mac Shared Canon Printer


I recently upgraded my wife’s laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium. (The laptop manufacturer sent us a free upgrade coupon since we purchased it not too long before Windows 7 was released.) This morning she discovered that she can’t print to the Canon MP830 that is shared from the G5 Mac (running Mac OS X 10.5.8) in our living room. In Vista, I had it working via Bonjour. I’ve now learned a little too late that Bonjour doesn’t work in Windows 7. I googled for a solution, but all I was able to find was a bunch of other people complaining about the same thing: printing from Windows 7 to a printer shared from Mac OS X wasn’t working as it had been in Windows XP or Vista.

Not to worry, though. After about 30 minutes of trying various solutions and just poking around in Windows 7, I found that the solution is pretty simple. The following procedure assumes you already have Printer Sharing enabled on your Mac.

Action

Possible causes are as follows:
Some ink tanks are not  in the correct position. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.)
More than one ink tanks of the same color are installed. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.)
Confirm that the ink tanks are  in the appropriate positions.

"The remaining level of the ink cannot be correctly detected."

The remaining ink level cannot be correctly detected. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.)
Replace  the ink tank and close the Scanning Unit ( Cover).
Printing with an ink tank that was once empty may damage the machine.

If you want to continue printing in this condition, you need to release the function for detecting the remaining ink level. Press and hold the Stop/Reset button for at least 5 seconds, and then release it.
With this operation, releasing the function for detecting the remaining ink level is memorized. Please be advised that Canon shall not be liable for any machine malfunction or damage caused by refilled ink tanks.

If the function for detecting the remaining ink level is disabled, the ink tank in gray is displayed on the LCD when checking the current ink level.

Since printing in this condition may cause the contents of the fax to be lost, the machine stores received faxes in memory without printing until the ink tank is replaced. Print the fax stored in memory manually after replacing the ink tank. You can set the machine to print received faxes forcibly without storing them in memory, but a part of contents or all contents of the fax may not be printed.

Commands from the Operation Panel with MP Navigator EX

MP Navigator EX enables you to specify the response resulting from pressing the Color Start or Black Start button on the machine. You can specify the response individually for each event. 
1. On the Windows desktop, double-click (MP Navigator EX 1.1).
Alternatively, on the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to (All) Programs, Canon Utilities, then MP Navigator EX 1.1. Then click MP Navigator EX 1.1.
MP Navigator EX opens.
2. Click Preferences.
The Preferences dialog box opens.
The Preferences dialog box can also be opened by clicking Preferences in One-click Mode Screen.
3. Specify Event and Actions in Scanner Button Settings tab.
